Robinson Named Senior Woman Administrator

Springfield, OHKatie Robinson, who has served as the head Women’s Soccer Coach at Wittenberg University since 2017, has been promoted to the Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) in the Athletic Department, it was announced by Vice President and Director of Athletics & Recreation, Dr. Gary Williams, on Thursday, May 14th.

In three years at the helm of the Wittenberg Women’s Soccer program, Robinson has guided the Tigers to an overall record 23-23-9, which was highlighted by the 2017 team winning the NCAC Tournament Title with a thrilling 1-0 victory over the top seed and host Kenyon. 

“I’m both honored and humbled to accept the position as Senior Woman Administrator for Wittenberg Athletics,” said Robinson. “I want to thank Gary Williams and the rest of the Senior Administrative team for the opportunity to serve in this new role and am looking forward to finding new ways to help enhance the student-athlete experience at Wittenberg.” 

Off the field, Robinson has been a valuable contributor to the Athletic Department in her three years at Wittenberg, serving as the staff liaison to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, while also sitting on numerous different Search Committees not only within the department but across the University. 

“I am very excited and proud of Katie on her promotion to Senior Woman Administrator. Katie has been instrumental over the past two years in developing our Student Athlete Advisory Committee into a strong and vibrant organization as well as spearheading a variety of departmental programming, serving on numerous working groups and also on many hiring search committees,” said Williams. “This is a wonderful opportunity for Katie to continue to strengthen her leadership skills both personally and professionally and I am thankful for her willingness to serve our University in this important position.” 

Prior to arriving at Wittenberg in the Spring of 2017, Robinson served as an assistant coach for three different NCAA Div. III institutions, including Goucher (2011-13), Capital (2013) and Ohio Northern (2014-2016). The 2010 graduate of Capital University capped off her playing career as three-time All-Conference, All-Ohio and All-Region performer, while also being named the 2008 Ohio Athletic Conference Forward of the Year.
