
SPRINGFIELD, OH – Wittenberg Men's Lacrosse took on Oberlin at home in their second conference game, and after taking an early lead, the Tigers fell to Oberlin 19-9. With the loss, Wittenberg falls to 3-4, while Oberlin improves to 1-7 on the season.
The Tigers will be back in action on Wednesday, April 9th, on the road at Wabash. The opening face-off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
Dillon McKeigue (Olmstead Township, OH / St. Edward), Blake Roller (New Albany, OH / St. Charles), Travis Demsher (Santa Clarita, CA / West Ranch), Ty Harris (Cincinnati, OH / Sycamore), Nicholas Langenderfer (Montgomery, OH / St. Xavier), Tripp Salowich (Plymouth, MI / Canton), and Aidan Kruse (Loveland, OH / Loveland) all contributed goals against Oberlin. In the first quarter, the Tigers held an early two-goal lead, but Oberlin fought back in the second quarter, finding the net a whopping eight times to go into halftime with a 10-5 lead. In the second half, the Tigers were able to find the back of the net four more times, but Oberlin pulled away with nine more goals en route to the final winning margin of 19-9.
Team Leaders
- Harris and Kruse each had two goals on the day. Harris also had one ground ball and two turnovers.
- Colten Simkins (Liberty Township, OH / Lakota East) led the tigers in ground balls with four. Charlie Frederick (Chagrin Falls, OH / Chagrin Falls) followed closely with three.
- Chase Singleton (Springboro, OH / Springboro) was able to get 10 saves in goal for the Tigers.
