Wittenberg Drops Second Straight in Loss to DePauw
SPRINGFIELD, OH-The Wittenberg Women's Basketball team took on DePauw at home, looking to get redemption for a nine-point loss to DePauw in Indiana earlier this season. Coming off a loss to Ohio Wesleyan, the Tigers were looking to bounce back against another top conference opponent. It was a closely contested first half, but DePauw pulled away over the final 20 minutes to hand Wittenberg a 65-55 loss. Wittenberg's record is now 14-8 (6-5 NCAC), while DePauw's record improves to 16-5 (10-1 NCAC).
In the first half, the Tigers kept it close behind 10 points from Riane Burton (Houston, TX / Cypress Ranch) and five assists from Taryn Cash (Cincinnati, OH / Princeton), but trailed by six at halftime. In the second half, the DePauw lead proved to be too much, and Wittenberg fell, 65-55.

- Burton led the team in points with 16, while Jazmyn Gaines-Burns (Bladensburg, MD / Elizabeth Seton) dropped 15. Rounding out the double-digit scorers was Karsen Karlblom (Crystal Lake, IL / Prairie Ridge) with 13.
- Burton led in rebounds with eight and Gaines-Burns was right behind, logging seven of her own.
- Cash led the team in assists with six and Karlblom led the team in blocks with three.
