
STATESBORO, GA - Wittenberg Women's Golf headed to the deep South to open up the Spring portion of the 2024-25 season. Playing two rounds over two days at the par-72, 5608-yard Georgia Southern University Golf Course, the Tigers finished 16th out of 19 teams in a very strong field assembled at the South Georgia Invitational.
Fifteen of the teams in the field came into the competition ranked in the top 50 nationally. Second-ranked Carnegie Mellon showed off tremendous depth by winning the tournament with a final score of 21-over-par, while the Tartans' B team placed fourth at 61-over-par. In between, Washington University-St. Louis finished second at 36-over-par and 15th-ranked Randolph-Macon took third at 59-over-par.
Wittenberg was led by junior Izzy Selby (Cincinnati, OH / Seton), who carded an outstanding second-day round of 79 to finish 21-over-par overall. That was good for 39th place individually as Selby moved up 18 places on Day 2.
Next up for the Tigers was freshman Addie Yarbrough (Dublin, OH / Jerome), who finished 77th at 39-over-par, junior Hillary Humbaugh (Haubstadt, IN / Gibson Southern) in 80th at 40-over-par, freshman Anna Sinclair (Brownsburg, IN / Brownsburg) in 88th at 49-over-par, and freshman Josie Adamson (Cincinnati, OH / Oak Hills) in 97th at 65-over-par.
