SPRINGFIELD, OH-Wittenberg Men's Lacrosse started its season by taking on the Westminster Titans in an indoor game played in The Steemer at Wittenberg. Though the game was full of playing catch-up for the Tigers, they stayed close to the Titans but were unable to come out victorious, dropping the first game of the season by a score of 18-16. The game was the first of the season for each team, so the Titans start 1-0 while the Tigers move to 0-1.
Despite starting the game in a 1-1 tie, Wittenberg fell behind 8-1 after the first quarter before mounting a comeback bid. In the second quarter, Wittenberg scored six goals, two more than Westminster, to cut the lead to five. Then, to start the second half the Tigers netted five more in the third quarter to bring them even closer, going into the fourth down four. The Tigers scored four more in the final frame, but Westminster netted two of their own to hang on to the lead.
