GRANVILLE, OH - The Wittenberg Women's Golf team kicked off the 2024-25 season with a solid performance at Denison's Lynn Schweizer Invitational at historic Denison Golf Club in Granville, Ohio. The Tigers finished ninth as a team in a strong 15-team field, carding rounds of 327 and 332 to finish with a total of 659 strokes.
The host Big Red took the top spot with a two-day total of 610, a total of 30 strokes over par. Randolph-Macon finished second at 615, followed by Centre at 619.
Addie Yarbrough (Dublin, OH / Jerome) was solid in her inaugural collegiate competition, shooting rounds of 78 and 81 to finish with a two-round total of 14-over-par 159, good for a tie for 27th place. Becky Williams of DePauw blistered the course for a two-under-par total of 143 to comfortably win the individual title.
Hillary Humbaugh (Haubstadt, IN / Gibson Southern) was right behind Yarbrough as she shot rounds of 79 and 81 to finish at 160, good for a tie for 30th place. She was followed by Halley McNair (Cincinnati, OH / Bishop Fenwick) in 50th place with 169 strokes, Izzy Selby (Cincinnati, OH / Seton) in 54th place with 171 strokes, and Anna Sinclair (Brownsburg, IN / Brownsburg) in 66th place with 182 strokes.
Next up for the Tigers is the JCU Invitational, hosted by John Carroll at Shaker Heights Country Club & Manakki Golf Club on September 15-16.
