Tigers Unable to Keep Pace With Transy in Spring Break Loss

HILTON HEAD, SC - Wittenberg Women's Lacrosse got off to a solid start in their Spring Break trip finale against Transylvania, but the Tigers were unable to maintain the momentum in what eventually turned out to be a 14-9 loss.

Wittenberg dropped to 2-4 on the season, while Transylvania improved to 2-7.

Despite the defeat, Sidney Sheridan (Columbus, OH / Bishop Hartley) was a bright spot again with her strong play in goal. She was credited with 12 saves in the game, which brought her career total to more than 400. She has moved up to fourth in program history in career saves.

At the other end of the field, freshman Hannah Peterson (Cedarville, OH/Cedarville) continued her stellar play offensively, leading the Tigers with four goals. Aubrey Stager (Saline, MI / Saline) and Essence Wyse (Lewis Center, OH / Olentangy) added two goals apiece, and Alyssa Burnside (Galloway, OH / Hilliard Bradley) chipped in with a goal as well. Wyse had the Tigers' lone assist in the game.

Elsewhere in the stats, Stager led the Tigers with four ground balls and two draw controls.
