
HILTON HEAD, SC – Wittenberg's Women's Lacrosse got off to a great start on its spring break trip in Hilton Head, South Carolina, defeating Curry College, 18-13, on Monday, March 10. The 18 goals were a season-high for the Tigers.
Seven different players scored for the Tigers. Witt also recorded seven assists, which is more than it had in all other games combined this season. With the win, the Tigers improved to 2-3 on the season, while Curry College drops to 1-3.
Hannah Peterson (Cedarville, OH / Cedarville) led the team in goals with six. She also had seven shots, six on goal and added four assists and six draw controls.
"I am proud of this team for being able to bounce back after a tough loss in our prior game," said Women's lacrosse coach Becca Joseph. "Our attack really stepped up, scoring our season-high 18 goals. It's always great to see multiple people scoring and finishing on some beautiful passes. Sidney Sheridan really anchored us on the defensive end. It was all-around a great team win!"
Team Leaders
- Alyssa Burnside (Galloway, OH / Hilliard Bradley) registered four goals and three draw controls. Essence Wyse (Lewis Center, OH / Olentangy) added three more goals and two assists.
- Aubrey Stager (Saline, MI / Saline) and Sophia Meek (Lewis Center, OH / Olentangy Orange) had two goals each and Jarya Hassell (Bellbrook, OH / Bellbrook) rounded out the scoring with one goal and one assist.
- Stager added six draw controls.
- Goalkeeper Sidney Sheridan (Columbus, OH / Bishop Hartley) tallied 14 saves.

- Wittenberg had 25 total shots to 33 for Curry.
