SPRINGFIELD, OH - Wittenberg Women's Basketball continued its winning ways, running its streak to six in a row with an 82-43 victory over visiting Kenyon in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) opener for both teams.

The Tigers are now 6-1 on the season, while Kenyon fell to 1-6. Wittenberg now has a break from competition to focus on final exams. The Tigers will return to action on December 18-19 for the Wittenberg Holiday Classic against Bryant & Stratton and Hope College.

Wittenberg never trailed against Kenyon. The two teams traded baskets in the opening minutes before a Taryn Cash (Cincinnati, OH/Princeton) three-pointer kickstarted a 7-0 Wittenberg run. By the end of the first quarter, the Tigers were in control, 21-10, and by halftime, the lead had expanded to 50-25. Even as the bench emptied over the final 20 minutes, the Tigers steadily expanded on their advantage.

Eleven different Wittenberg players found their way into the scoring column, led by Karsen Karlblom (Crystal Lake, IL/Prairie Ridge) with 23 points on 9-of-14 shooting, including 5-of-8 from three-point range. The only other Tiger in double figures was McKenna Baker (Brownsburg, IN/Bethesda Christian) with 10 points in 10 efficient minutes off the bench.

Riane Burton (Houston, TX/Cypress Ranch) added nine points, while a trio of Tigers contributed seven points each: Cash, Molly Mossing (Cedarville, OH/Cedarville), and Karley Moore (Tipp City, OH/Bethel). Moore topped the Tigers in steals with four, Karlblom, Mossing, and Jazmyn Gaines-Burns (Bladensburg, MD/Elizabeth Seton) topped the team with four rebounds each, and Payton Cronen (Louisville, KY/Assumption) was tops in assists with five.

Wittenberg won the battle of the boards, 39-28, and the Tigers also forced 21 Kenyon turnovers, which led directly to 30 points.
