Women's Golf Places 13th at Max and Susan Stith Invitational
Richmond, VA - Wittenberg Women's Golf traveled to Richmond, Virginia, to participate in the Max and Susan Stith Invitational, hosted by Randolph-Macon College. The Tigers placed 13th of 15 teams, nine of which are ranked in the top-25 in the country. After the team shot a +50 on the first day, they improved by five strokes to +45 on the second day for a total of 671, or 95-over-par.
The top finisher for the Tigers was Addie Yarbrough (Dublin, OH / Jerome) who placed 37th overall after shooting a first-round 80 (+8) and second-round 81 (+9) to finish with 161 to end up 17-over-par for the weekend. Izzy Selby (Cincinnati, OH / Seton) finished second for the Tigers in 48th place as she carded a first-round 86 (+14) and a second-round 78 (+6) for a total of 164 to close the invitational at 20 over par. The next Tiger finisher was Hillary Humbaugh (Haubstadt, IN / Gibson Southern) in 59th. In the first round she finished with 84 (+12) and added 86 (+14) total 170 for a final finish of 26-over-par. Anna Sinclair (Brownsburg, IN / Brownsburg) was fourth for the Tigers as she shot a total of 176 to finish at 32-over-par by finishing both the first and second round with 88 (+16) strokes. Finishing fifth for Wittenberg and 75th overall was Lexi Buffkin (Bellefontaine, OH / Bellefontaine) with a first-round 106 (+34) and a second-round 98 (+26) to finish at 60-over-par with a total of 204 strokes.
The Tigers will return to action Sunday, April 6, and Monday, April 7, as they compete in the Eva Shorb Weiskopf Inviational, hosted by the College of Wooster.
