Tiger Women's Golf Fourth After Day 2 at NCACs
COLUMBUS, IN - Led by a pair of red-hot first-year collegiate players, Wittenberg Men's Golf has taken the lead at the 2025 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Championships through the first two rounds of action at Otter Creek Golf Course. After blistering the 6,897-yard, par-72 North and West courses at Otter Creek with a four-under-par opening round of 284 to finish with a share of first place on Day 1, the Tigers topped themselves on Day 2 by taking sole possession of the lead with a five-under-par round of 283.
The women's competition is led by four-time defending champion Denison with a two-day total of 629 (303-316), followed by DePauw with a 624 (312-312), Wooster with a 671 (329-342), and Wittenberg with a 674 (341-333). The final round of the event will get underway on Sunday, May 4, with the players teeing off on Hole 10 at 8:15 a.m.
Kenyon, the pre-tournament favorite and nationally ranked defending champion, is right behind Wittenberg in the men's standings with a two-round total of 572. Wittenberg's two-round total of 567 ranks sixth in program history. Wabash heads into the final round in third place with a 586 (288-298), followed by DePauw (297-298) and Denison (293-302) in a tie for fourth with matching totals of 595. The final round for the men also takes place on Sunday, May 4, with the players teeing off on Hole 1 at 8:00 a.m.
The first round of the three-day competition was played in relatively calm conditions and comfortable temperatures for early May, but Saturday's weather was much different. Temperatures were about 20 degrees lower, with a chilling breeze and occasional light rain during the round.
The radical change in weather conditions over the first two days did nothing to cool off the Tigers, who have been led both days by freshman Mitch Bolte (Newark, OH / Newark). He heads into the final round atop the men's individual standings with a two-round total of 139 after shooting a four-under-par 68 in Round 2 and a one-under-par 71 in Round 1. Bolte leads the tournament by just one stroke, with freshman Mikey Schutte (Cincinnati, OH / Elder) among four players checking in with matching two-round totals of 140 (70-70).
The team lead has been a product of excellent play up and down the Tigers' lineup. Senior Joshua Wright (Wadsworth, OH / Akron Hoban) is seventh in the individual standings with a two-round total of 143, followed by senior Jake Yarbrough (Dublin, OH / Jerome) in 10th at 146, and sophomore Caleb Domitrovich (McDonald, OH / McDonald) in 12th at 148.
Wittenberg's women are led by Hillary Humbaugh (Haubstadt, IN / Gibson Southern). She stands ninth individually with a two-round total of 160. Izzy Selby (Cincinnati, OH / Seton) is next in 11th at 164, followed by Addie Yarbrough (Dublin, OH / Jerome) in 15th at 169, Anna Sinclair (Brownsburg, IN / Brownsburg) in 19th at 182, and Taylor Rausch (Mechanicsburg, OH / Mechanicsburg) in 20th at 183.
