Wooster, OH - The Tigers went on the road for their first North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) games of the 2025 season to take on the Wooster Fighting Scots in a doubleheader. The Tigers won the first game, 8-0, and the second game, 6-0, to extend their winning streak to five and improve their record on the season is 16-4, while Wooster fell to 5-11 overall. In both games, Wittenberg's pitching didn't allow a single run and the bats were able to push across runs with timely hitting.

While Wooster was held scoreless, the Tiger offense racked up eight runs of their own. After scoring one in the first inning, Wittenberg held on to a 1-0 lead going into the fourth until a two-RBI single pushed the lead to three. The Tigers then scored five to end the game after the fifth inning. The offense in the fifth was started off by a Kirsten Wright (Springfield, OH / Kenton Ridge) sacrifice fly with the bases loaded to score one and Hanna Ecker (Heath, OH / Heath) singled down the left field line to drive in the Tigers' eighth run of the game and fifth of the inning.

Quote from Head Coach Ashley Goodwin

"We had a fantastic start to our conference season, sweeping our first doubleheader with our pitching staff dominating and allowing zero runs. Our offense was clicking on all cylinders, showcasing teamwork and determination. As we celebrate this achievement, we know a tough road matchup awaits us next weekend. We'll enjoy this victory and then refocus on playing our game. Go Tigers!"

The Tigers' next matchup will be a doubleheader in Granville, Ohio, where they will take on preseason NCAC favorite Denison in a doubleheader on Saturday, April 5, at 1:00 p.m.
