Tennis Teams Lose to Denison on the Road

GRANVILLE, OH – Wittenberg's men's and women's tennis teams were on the road for a second straight day on Saturday, April 12. Both teams fell to Denison in a North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) matchup at the Denison Tennis Courts.

On the men's side, Wittenberg fell 7-0 to the Big Red, ranked No. 3. Denison secured the doubles' point by scores of 6-2, 6-0, and 6-0. With the loss, the Tigers drop to 1-15 overall and 0-4 in the NCAC. Denison, which has won 10 in a row, improves to 18-2 overall and 5-0 in the conference. 

The Tigers also fell 7-0 on the women's side to the Denison, ranked No. 26. Denison secured the doubles point by winning all three matches in scores of 6-0, 6-0, and 6-0. With the loss, Witt falls to 0-13 overall and 0-4 NCAC.  

Denison, which snapped a three-match losing streak, improves to 10-6 overall and 2-1 in the conference.

Men's Singles vs. Denison:

  • Court 1: Ethan Libby  (Loveland, OH / Loveland) lost 6-0, 6-1
  • Court 2: Kyle Fout  (Gahanna, OH / Gahanna Lincoln) lost 6-2, 6-0
  • Court 3: Justin Hardie (Centerville, OH / Centerville) lost 6-1, 6-1
  • Court 4: Jacob Bennett  (Pickerington, OH / Pickerington Central) lost 6-1, 6-1
  • Court 5: Benjamin Glassman (Woodbridge, CT / Amity Regional) lost 6-1, 6-0
  • Court 6: Daniel Patel (Pittsburgh, PA / Shaler Area) lost 6-0, 6-0

Women's Singles vs. Denison:

Next up, both teams will travel to Ohio Wesleyan on Wednesday, April 16. Matches begin at 4 p.m.
