Parking
Wittenberg University, as a walking campus, has a limited parking capacity. Parking on campus property is subject to all regulations of the Campus Police Division.
Under normal circumstances, a hanging tag is required to park anywhere on campus property. Tags are issued by Wittenberg's Campus Safety & Police Division to registered vehicles and visitors at the window at the Recitation Hall Annex. During athletic events this restriction is relaxed, though all posted restrictions and signs are still in effect. There is no paid parking anywhere on campus or at any athletic facility.
Parking on the west side of the HWA Complex itself is restricted at all times to faculty, staff, media, and visiting team vehicles.
Faculty/Staff Parking: Many parking areas throughout campus are designated as Faculty/Staff parking, and these spaces are reserved from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, for Wittenberg faculty and staff members. These spots are open to the public after 6 p.m. on weekdays and all day on the weekends.
Designated Visitor Parking: Designated visitor parking is available at the Benham-Pence Student Center and on West Campus Drive in front of Recitation Hall. Faculty and staff lots next to Recitation Hall, Synod Hall, Hollenbeck Hall, Tower Hall, and Krieg Hall are available after 6 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends. It is recommended that visitors park in lots as opposed to along side streets.
Street Parking: Street parking is available both on campus and in the immediately surrounding areas on a first-come, first-serve basis, and is open to the public at all times. Streets with parking available include: Bill Edwards Drive, North Lowry Avenue, Plum Street, East and West Campus Drives, North Fountain Avenue, and West McCreight Ave.
Overflow Parking & Tailgating: For events with large anticipated crowds, such as football and basketball games, lots are sometimes made available on the former site of Mercy Hospital, located across West McCreight Avenue from Edwards-Maurer Field. A crosswalk is located at West McCreight and North Fountain Avenue, and is a short walk from the north gate at the stadium. Tailgating is also permitted in the Tower Hall lot.
