
SPRINGFIELD, OH — Wittenberg's Men's Volleyball picked up its second Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) victory in as many days by defeating Adrian College, 3-0, on Saturday, March 22, at Pam Evans Smith Arena, part of the Health, Wellness, & Athletics Complex.
The Tigers were never really threatened in the first two sets, leading most of the way. And while things were close in the beginning of set three, Wittenberg pulled away and never looked back, winning the match by scores of 25-16, 25-16, and 25-18. A big key in the win was Witt's hitting percentage of .312 to just .051 for Adrian.
With the victory, the Tigers improve to 17-10 overall and 4-1 in the MCVL. Adrian drops to 5-16 and 1-4 MCVL.
Team Leaders
- Michael Yurk (Indianapolis, IN / Bishop Chatard) led the team in kills with 14 on 21 total attacks for 14.5 points and a hitting percentage of .571. He also had five digs.
- Adam Blair (West Chester, OH / Lakota West) landed seven kills on nine total attacks for a .667 hitting percentage and 9.5 points. 12 points. He also had three blocks.
- Carson Hill (Liberty Township, OH / Lakota East) led the team in assists with 28. He also added three blocks.
- Jake Downs (Cincinnati, OH / Milford) had a team-high nine digs.
Team Comparison
- Wittenberg had 34 kills on 77 total attacks, 30 assists, nine blocks, eight service aces, and 32 digs.
- Adrian had 24 kills on 79 total attacks, 22 assists, 30 digs, 11 blocks, and 20 hitting errors.

Wittenberg will travel to Mount St. Joseph on Friday, March 28, for a 7 p.m. match.
