SPRINGFIELD, OH - Balance was the key for Wittenberg Women's Basketball as the Tigers opened the home portion of the 2024-25 schedule with a 101-41 victory over visiting Pitt-Greensburg.

The win was Wittenberg's fourth in a row to improve to 4-1 on the season. Pitt-Greensburg, which was without the services of multiple injured players, including the Bobcats' two leading scorers, dropped to 1-5 on the season.

After Pitt-Greensburg opened the game with a three-pointer, Wittenberg responded with 12 straight points to take control. From there, the Tigers never looked back, building a 24-12 lead by the end of the first quarter and expanding that advantage to 45-17 by hafltime. Even as 16 different players saw at least four minutes of game action, Wittenberg continued to dictate the play through the final whistle against the exhausted Bobcats, who had just six players available.

Jazmyn Gaines-Burns (Bladensburg, MD / Elizabeth Seton) led the way offensively for Wittenberg with 14 points in just 15 minutes on the floor. She was joined in double figures by Madi Barnett (Cincinnati, OH / Kings) with 12 points and McKenna Baker (Brownsburg, IN / Bethesda Christian) and Molly Mossing (Cedarville, OH / Cedarville) with 10 points each. Kelsey Ragan (Whitehouse, OH/Anthony Wayne) and Karsen Karlblom (Crystal Lake, IL / Prairie Ridge) added nine points apiece, and Riane Burton (Houston, TX / Cypress Ranch) and Hope Orders (Grove City, OH / Bishop Ready) chipped in with eight points each.

Wittenberg held a commanding 41-26 rebounding advantage, led by Karley Moore (Tipp City, OH / Bethel) with six and Mossing with five. The Tigers dished out 23 assists on 45 made field goals, with Barnett leading the way with five. And the turnover margin was a stunning 28-5 in favor of Wittenberg as the Tigers came up with 24 steals, led by Ragan and Baker with four each.
