Bio
From Hall of Honor press release dated July 8, 2011:
Keith Ayers was the baseball team's pitching ace between 1957 and
1960, during which time he posted a staggering 21-3 career record.
He led Wittenberg to three Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC)
championships and two NCAA College Division Mid-East Region titles
during his career, while the Tigers piled up four-year records of
43-9 overall and 40-7 in the OAC. Ayers was a member of the
first-ever All-OAC team in 1960, a year after he posted a sparkling
0.79 earned run average, which ranks third in program history. His
21 career pitching wins also ranks third in program history. A
native of Delphos, Ohio, Ayers currently resides in Houston,
Texas.
