Springfield, Ohio — Five Wittenberg University greats will be inducted into the school's Athletics Hall of Honor during 2011 Homecoming Weekend ceremonies, Oct. 21-23. Keith Ayers '60, Dick Fahrney, Steve Hanneman '70, Julien Lazarus '99 and Danielle (Rogers) Good '93 will join 189 other Wittenberg greats who have previously been inducted into the university's Athletics Hall of Honor.

The honorees will be formally inducted into the Athletics Hall of Honor at a banquet on Friday, Oct. 21. They will be introduced to Wittenberg's loyal fans during halftime of the annual Homecoming football game against Carnegie Mellon the next day, which is set to kick off at 1 p.m. at Edwards-Maurer Field.

Keith Ayers

Ayers was the Tigers' pitching ace between 1957 and 1960, during which time he posted a staggering 21-3 career record. He led Wittenberg to three Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) championships and two NCAA College Division Mid-East Region titles during his career, while the Tigers piled up four-year records of 43-9 overall and 40-7 in the OAC. Ayers was a member of the first-ever All-OAC team in 1960, a year after he posted a sparkling 0.79 earned run average, which ranks third in program history. His 21 career pitching wins also ranks third in program history. A native of Delphos, Ohio, Ayers currently resides in Houston, Texas.

Dick Fahrney

Fahrney made his mark at Wittenberg as a coach in three different sports between 1967 and 1976. An all-conference football and lacrosse player at Ohio Wesleyan, Fahrney coached the offensive line for the Tiger football team, helping the Tigers to three national championships and a 74-14-2 record. He coached six first-team All-OAC linemen, including Steve Drongowski, who was named OAC Offensive Player of the Year and first-team All-America in 1973. In lacrosse, he started the varsity program in 1968 and guided the Tigers to a 40-39 record while coaching 22 all-region honorees and two All-Americans. After the program was discontinued in 1975, Fahrney led the Tiger baseball team to an 11-5 record in 1976. A native of West Carrollton, Ohio, Fahrney currently resides in Breckenridge, Colo.

Steve Hanneman

Hanneman is one of the finest track and field student-athletes in Wittenberg history, winner of two OAC outdoor hurdles titles and owner of four All-OAC awards (one indoor and three outdoor), given to top-three finishers in individual events. A four-year letterwinner in track and field, Hanneman earned team MVP honors in 1970 after serving as a team captain during his senior season. During his career, Hanneman lost just two regular season high hurdles races, and he was a member of a school-record 440-yard relay. A native of Brecksville, Ohio, Hanneman currently resides in El Dorado Hills, Calif.

Julien Lazarus

Lazarus is the most decorated men's swimmer in Wittenberg history. The 1997 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Male Swimmer of the Year, Lazarus won conference championships in the 100-yard breaststroke four straight years and the 200-yard breaststroke three years in a row, and he held the NCAC record in the 200-yard breaststroke for nearly a decade. Nationally, Lazarus earned a program-best 11 All-America honors. He placed second nationally in both breaststroke events at the 1998 NCAA Division III Championship meet, the best finish ever for a Wittenberg swimmer – male or female. In addition, Lazarus continues to hold three school records. A native of Moens, France, Lazarus currently resides in Gland, Switzerland.

Danielle Good

Nearly 20 years after last donning the Red & White, Good remains the women's basketball program's record-holder for season rebounds (303), season blocked shots (37), career rebounds (1,078) and career blocked shots (122). A three-time All-NCAC honoree, Good owns three of the top seven single-game rebounding totals and blocked shot totals in program history, and she is one of just seven players to finish her career with more than 1,000 points. During her career, the Tigers posted records of 94-18 overall and 52-4 in the NCAC, won two NCAC regular season titles and the 1991 NCAC Tournament title while qualifying for the NCAA Division III Tournament in 1990 and 1993. A native of Lima, Ohio, Good currently resides in her hometown.
