Grand Rapids, MI - Following an unexpectedly lengthy break from competition, Wittenberg Men's Cross Country finished third at the Calvin Invite Saturday morning, scoring 82 points. Davenport won the meet, scoring 44 points, and Calvin tool the second-place finish with 57 points.
The Tigers were paced by senior Conor Kolka (Dexter, MI/Dexter) who finished first at the invite, winning the 8k race, posting a time of 25:20. Sophomore Lukas Rieben (Clayton, OH/Northmont), freshman Brandon Anderson (Dexter, MI/Dexter), and Lucas Eisele (Dayton, OH / West Carrollton) all posted top 25 finishes for the Tigers as well.
Rieben finished 15th in the meet with a time of 26:14.5, Anderson placed 22nd with a time of 26:30.5 and Eisele posted a 25th place finish with a time of 26:47.3.
Senior Adam Arndt (Connersville, IN/Connersville) secured a 46th place finish with a time of 27:38.7 and freshman Kamren Graham (Shaker Heights, OH/Shaker Heights) rounded the scoring for the Tigers, finishing 62nd with a time of 28:04.8.
Wittenberg returns to action next week, as the squad competes in the OWU Invitational, at 6 p.m. Friday, October 4, and the other half of the team heads to the Paul Short Run at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa.
