GAMBIER, OH - A mid-week road trip to Kenyon required some late-game heroics as senior Chamberlain Browning (Troy, OH/Troy) scored in the 86th minute to secure a 1-1 draw for Wittenberg Women's Soccer.

Life on the road is never easy in conference play, even when the opponent comes into the match with eight losses in its first nine contests. So while the Tigers surely would rather have secured all three points, Head Coach Katie Robinson's team, which trailed for much of the match, will gladly take the point and turn the focus to a busy three-games-in-seven-days stretch that starts with a road trip to Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday, October. 19.

Wittenberg will take records of 3-4-4 overall and 1-1-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) into that visit to OWU. With several games remaining on the NCAC calendar still to play tonight, the defending regular season champion Tigers remain toward the bottom of a crowded standings at present.

Browning had just re-entered the game two minutes prior to scoring the game-tying goal, which came off an assist from Brooke Mullis (Lawrenceburg, IN/Taylor). It was her lone attempt on goal in 27 minutes of action in the game.

Wittenberg's leaders in shots were Sarah Deaton (Monroe, OH/Monroe) and Courtney Lindgren (Maineville, OH/Kings) with three each, followed by Grace Koperna (Macedonia, OH/Nordonia) and Mullis with two apiece. All told, Wittenberg finished with 15 shots in the game, compared to 14 for the Owls.

In goal, Lily Winkle (Cynthiana, KY/Harrison County) was forced into two saves for the Tigers. Her Kenyon counterpart came up with seven stops to preserve the tie.
