CLAREMONT, Calif. — His goal was a national championship. He didn't quite reach that goal, but that does nothing to detract from sophomore Victor Banjo (Sugarland, Texas/Stephen F. Austin) and his accomplishments in the 2012 track and field season, culminating in his seventh-place finish in the 100-meter dash in the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships.

Wittenberg University track and field standout Victor Banjo, class of 2014 from Sugarland, Texas, will compete in the 2012 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships on May 24-26 at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps University in Claremont, Calif., in the 100-meter and 200-meter races.

Wittenberg's men's track and field team collected a total of six All-North Coast Athletic Conference awards at the 2012 NCAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Just as he did two months earlier at the 2012 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Indoor Track and Field Championship meet, sophomore Victor Banjo (Sugarland, Texas/Stephen F. Austin) provided plenty of sparks at the conference's outdoor championship competition.

Wittenberg's men's track and field team was picked to finish sixth in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) outdoor championship meet, while the Tiger women were picked to finish seventh. The meet will take place May 4-5 at Allegheny.

Wittenberg's men's and women's track and field teams participated in a final tune-up for the 2012 NCAC Championship meet at the Denison Invitational. The meet did not record team scores. Also during the final weekend of the regular season, Ohio Wesleyan hosted the NCAC decathlon and heptathlon events.

WILMINGTON, Ohio — Wittenberg's men's and women's track and field teams turned in a fine performance at the Wilmington Invitational, taking fourth place and first place, respectively, in matching seven-team fields.

Competing on a wet, windy, cool day, the Wittenberg men's and women's track and field teams performed admirably at the All-Ohio Outdoor Invitational, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University. The Tiger women placed 12th out of 20 teams, while the men finished 16th in a 21-team field.

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — The Wittenberg track and field teams hosted their first home meet in four years Saturday and captured some solid performances in a meet that also featured Kentucky State, Otterbein, Capital and Wilmington.

The final day of March offered a mixed bag from Mother Nature, but the Wittenberg men's and women's track and field teams performed quite well at the Cedarville Invitational. The Tiger men, in particular, enjoyed success on a cool, overcast, damp day, finishing third in a 12-team field. Wittenberg's women placed seventh out of 15 teams.

The Wittenberg men's and women's track and field teams opened the outdoor portion of the 2012 season with a pair of strong performances at the Emory Invitational. The men placed ninth in the 14-team field with 39 points. The women placed eighth with an identical point total.

Sophomore Victor Banjo (Sugarland, Texas/Stephen F. Austin) believed he could become Wittenberg's first-ever indoor national champion. That is why he expressed some measure of disappointment following his fourth-place finish in the 60-meter dash at the 2012 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships.

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. — The Wittenberg men's and women's teams each finished sixth at the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships Friday and Saturday while racking up 11 all-conference performances, two individual championships and six school records.
