ASHLAND, OH - Competing in a tough field made up of mostly Division II athletes, Wittenberg's men's and women's track and field teams turned in a stellar performance setting a new school record in three events at the Ashland Collegiate Invitational at Niss Athletic Center on Saturday, Jan. 25.

On the men's side, the Tigers set a new Wittenberg University record by taking fourth place in the men's 4x400-meter relay in a time of 3:18.62. The new record holders include Cameron Elliott (Springfield, OH / Springfield), Brandon Anderson (Dexter, MI / Dexter), Bryson Hall (Franklin, OH / Franklin), and Jack Kittle (Chagrin Falls, OH / Chagrin Falls).

Elliott also set a new school record in the 300-meter dash by turning in a second-place finish in a time of 35.04. Kittle wasn't far behind taking third in the race in a time of 35.23. Both times surpassed a Wittenberg record that had been in place for nearly 30 years.

Freshman Elijah Simmons (Jacksonville, FL / Groveport) also had a good day, placing eighth in the 200-meter dash in a time of 22.24.

On the women's side, Meghan Frazier (Alliance, OH / Alliance) was third in the 400-meter dash in a time of 57.22, which was good for a new school record of her own. Izzy Henderson (East Liberty, OH / Benjamin Logan) took second in the long jump competition with a mark of 5.59 meters, and she also placed seventh in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 9.46.

Another high point for the women came in the 400-meter relay. The quartet of Abbey Danne (Johnstown, OH / Big Walnut), Frazier, Henderson, and Victoria Pipinich (Fort Worth, TX / All Saints Episcopal) took fifth place in a time of 4:02.19.

There were no team scores at the invitational, just individual results.
