Tiger Track & Field Teams Excel At Greenville, Mount Union

ALLIANCE, OH/GREENVILLE, IL - Wittenberg Men's and Women's Track & Field split up over the weekend, sending competitors who enjoyed tremendous success at meets hosted by the University of Mount Union and Greenville University in Illinois.

Wittenberg's men competing at the Greenville Select meet were led by Jack Kittle (Chagrin Falls, OH / Chagrin Falls), who won the 400 meters in a time of 47.25, which sets a new school record. His time leads the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) and was ranked eighth in all of NCAA Division III as of Sunday, April 13. Kittle also participated in two relays that excelled in the meet. He ran a leg of the 4x100-meter relay, helping the team of Kittle, Elijah Simmons (Jacksonville, FL / Groveport), Cameron Elliott (Springfield, OH / Springfield), and Neal Godfrey (Columbus, OH / St. Francis DeSales) finish third with a time of 41.79. Kittle wrapped things up by running the anchor leg of the winning 4x400-meter relay, which crossed the finish line in a time of 3:16.14. Kittle's split was a sizzling 46.85 as he teamed up with Elliott, Bryson Hall (Franklin, OH / Franklin), and Dashawn Seye (Centerville, OH / Centerville).

For the Tiger women at Greenville, Meghan Frazier (Alliance, OH / Alliance) provided a highlight by finishing second in the 400 meters with a time of 56.44. That time ranked first in the conference and 19th in all of NCAA Division III as of Sunday, April 13. Frazier ran in two relays. The 4x100-meter relay team of Frazier, Zora Shakhan (Pickerington, OH / Pickerington Central), Lindsey Magoteaux (Sidney, OH / Lehman Catholic), and Izzy Henderson (East Liberty, OH / Benjamin Logan) ran a time of 47.62, and the 4x400-meter relay team of Frazier, Abbey Danne (Johnstown, OH / Big Walnut), Henderson, and Tymeerah De'Armond (Springfield, OH / Springfield) ran a time of 3:57.97. Both times lead the conference.

Other top Tiger performers at Greenville included:

  • Taylor Weiss (Powell, OH / Olentangy Liberty), third in the women's high jump;
  • Justin Norris (Middletown, OH / Middletown Christian), second in the men's high jump and first in the javelin;
  • Henderson, third in the women's long jump and fourth in the 100-meter hurdles;
  • Simmons, second in the men's 100 meters and the men's 200 meters;
  • Elliott, third in the 400 meters.

At Mount Union's John Homon Invitational, Lukas Rieben (Clayton, OH / Northmont) finished third in the 5000 meters with a personal-best time of 15:06.41. That time was ranked first in the conference as of Sunday, April 13. In addition, Riley Payne (Hamilton, OH / Trenton Edgewood) placed third in the 110-meter hurdles,

Maddi Clark (Mentor, OH / Mentor) won the 5K with a personal best time of 17:57.76. Her time was ranked third in the conference as of Sunday, April 13. She was followed across the finish line by teammates Megan Keys (Dublin, OH / Jerome) and Emma Hawk (Marion, Ohio / River Valley) in second and third place, respectively.
