Tigers Excel in Meets at Wilmington and Oberlin
WILMINGTON/OBERLIN, OH - It was another busy weekend for Wittenberg Men's and Women's Track & Field as the Tigers sent some team members to the Wilmington Invitational, while four student-athletes kicked off the 2025 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships by competing in the Combined Events at Oberlin College.
At the Combined Events, the Tigers stockpiled some much-needed points toward the NCAC Championships team totals. On the men's side, Nicolas Farfoglia (Manchester, MD / Manchester Valley) finished third overall in the decathlon with 5531 points after recording strong performances in the 100-meter dash (second place), the pole vault (second place), and long jump (second place). He wound up scoring six points for the Tigers.
For Wittenberg's women, Ziciah Gibson (Cambridge, OH / Cambridge) finished third overall in the heptathlon with 3778 points, followed closely by teammates Lainee Valentine (Marion, OH / River Valley) in fourth place with 3652 points, and Cayla Eaton (North Lewisburg, OH / Triad) in sixth place with 3583 points. As a trio, they scored 14 points toward the Tigers' team total in the championships, giving Wittenberg the lead heading into the rest of the competition May 2-3 at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana.
While some other Tigers had the weekend off from competition to rest up for the NCAC Championship meet, others made the short trip to Wilmington for a final tune-up. Wittenberg finished fourth as a team in both the men's and women's standings - the Tiger men compiled 50 points, while the Tiger women tallied 78.

- Mataio Robinson (Dayton, OH / Meadowdale) second in the 110-meter hurdles
- Troy Crosby (Clayton, OH / Northmont) second in the discus
- Justin Norris (Middletown, OH / Middletown Christian) third in the high jump
- Adam Arndt (Connersville, IN / Connersville) fourth in the 1500 meters
- Max Martindale (Mason, OH / Lakota West) fifth in the shot put
- Parker Sothard (Springfield, OH / Springfield) fifth in the discus
Top finishers for Wittenberg's women at Wilmington included:
- Kyngston Collins (Dayton, OH / Belmont) fourth in the 200 meters
- Aly Kolonchuk (Canal Winchester, OH / Canal Winchester) fourth in the 800 meters
- Alex Couch (Howard, OH / Mount Vernon) second in the 1500 meters
- Abigail Davison (Reynoldsburg, OH / Reynoldsburg) first in the 5000 meters
- Rachel Lahrmer (Sagamore Hills, OH / Nordonia) second in the 5000 meters
- Maddie Doerman (West Chester, OH / Lakota West) and Libby Weisenberger (Collins, OH / Western Reserve) tied for second in the high jump
- Story Laing (Granville, OH / Granville) second in the pole vault
- Lexie Greer (Venedocia, OH / Spencerville) third in the pole vault
