Tigers Still in the Hunt After Day One of NCAC Championships

Oberlin, OH-The men's and women's track and field team traveled to Oberlin to compete at the NCAC Indoor Track and Field Championships. After one day of competitions, both teams are currently second in the standings. The men are in second with 41 points, 12 behind Wabash's 53 and Denison is in third with 32. The women have 62 points, which is only seven behind DePauw's 69 and 35 points ahead of Denison in third at 27. With only six of 18 events finished, there are 12 left to compete in when the Indoor Championships resume tomorrow.

Men's Finishes

  • Bryce Ray (Sun City, FL / Sumner) finished second in the long jump at 6.99 meters, scoring eight points and Neal Godfrey (Columbus, OH / St. Francis DeSales) finished sixth with 6.67 meters and gained three points
  • In pole vault, Gage Dyke (Frankfort, OH / Zane Trace) took thrid place and scored six points with a height of 4.20 meters and Nick Farfoglia (Manchester, MD / Manchester Valley) finished seventh at 3.95 meters, adding two points.
  • Max Martindale (Mason, OH / Lakota West) took sixth in the weight throw with a 14.75 meter throw, scoring three points and Max Green (Centerville, OH / Centerville) was right behind in seventh, scoring two points with a throw of 14.68 meters.
  • Second in the men's 5000 meter run was Conor Kolka (Dexter, MI / Dexter) with a time of 14:37.40 to score eight points and Lukas Rieben (Clayton, OH / Northmont) added three points by finishing sixth with a time of 15:20.54.
  • The 4000 distance medley team of Kamren Graham (Shaker Heights, OH / Shaker Heights), Owen Bier (Elyria, OH / Midview), Mason Duncan (Cardington, OH / Highland) and Adam Arndt (Connersville, IN / Connersville) took fifth place with a time of 10:32.83 to add another four points

Women's Finishes

  • Izzy Henderson (East Liberty, OH / Benjamin Logan) took first in the long jump, scoring ten points with a jump of 5.51 meters and Lainee Valentine (Marion, OH / River Valley) and Julissa Williams (Lorain, Oh / Lorain) took sixth and seventh with jumps of 5.13 and 5.10 meters to add three and two points.
  • Williams and Henderson took first and second in the high jumps with heights of 1.62 and 1.59 meters for ten and eight points. Taylor Weiss (Powell, OH / Olentangy Liberty) finished fifth with a height of 1.56 meters for four points, while Cayla Eaton (North Lewisburg, OH / Triad) added another two points by finsihing seventh at 1.51 meters.
  • In the weight throw, Macy DeHart (Springfield, OH / Kenton Ridge) finished in seventh with a throw of 12.89 meters for two points.
  • Emma Hawk (Marion, OH / River Valley) then took eighth in the 5000 meter run to add another point with a time of 18:19.29.
  • In the 4000 distance medley relay, the team of Alex Couch (Howard, OH / Mount Vernon), Abbey Danne (Johnstown, OH / Big Walnut), Aly Kolonchuk (Canal Winchester, Oh / Canal Winchester) and Mackenzie Kelley (Altoona, PA / Altoona Area) added five more points by finishing fourth in a time of 13:00.14.
