Red & White Drop Home Match to Otterbein

Springfield, OH- Wittenberg returned to Edwards-Maurer Field for their second match-up of the year against the Cardinals of Otterbein under the lights. The last time the Red & White saw Otterbein in action was during the 2020 season where the Cardinals came out on top. This time around the Tigers put up three goals but were unable to pull out a win, falling 10-3.

Highlights- Wittenberg and Otterbein went to a 1-1 draw in the first quarter with the Tigers first goal coming from Jessica Flick at the 5:18 mark. The Cardinals came back to answer before Wittenberg could put their second point on the board in the second quarter. Freshman, Anna Roller scored her second collegiate goal to bring the deficit to one. Heading into the third quarter the Tigers were down 5-2 but continued to play with intensity dominating in ground balls. Wittenberg's third goal of the game came in the third quarter from Mya Wolfe scoring unassisted, bringing the score within two. Defensively, the Tigers led in ground balls with 20 on the day, being led by Katie Wadds and Anna Roller with four each.

Splitting time in goal for the Tigers were Gabrielle Weckerly and Sidney Sheridan. The pair had a total of 11 saves, facing 21 shots on the day.
