    Wittenberg wrapped up a record-setting year with another haul of All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) recognitions from their spring sports. A total of 41 student-athletes earned NCAC spring postseason honors during a season in which the Tiger men's and women's tennis, men's golf and men's and women's lacrosse teams reached new heights.

    WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers put the finishing touches on the 2009 season with a sweep of Wilmington. By scores of 6-2 and 5-0, the Tigers ran their string to five wins in the last six games to cap the campaign at 18-20 overall.

    DELAWARE, Ohio — A late push for the final North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) playoff spot came down to the final series of the season as Wittenberg forced a winner-take-all game for the fourth conference playoff spot with Ohio Wesleyan thanks to a 5-1 win in the opener. The Bishops bounced back, however, with a 6-0 win in the nightcap to eliminate the Tigers from postseason contention.

The Red & White took Game 1 in 10 innings, topping the host Gators 2-1, before falling 3-2 in the nightcap.

    SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - On a day to celebrate the accomplishments of a pair of Tiger fourth-year standouts playing in their final regular season home games, it was junior Haley Gerken (Logan, Ohio/Logan) who shared in the spotlight with a walk-off two-RBI double in a 3-2 Game 1 victory over Oberlin. The Tigers then backed up their Game 1 exploits with a 2-1 win in the second contest to claim their first doubleheader sweep of the season in their eighth try.

    SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - Wittenberg senior standout hurler Rachael Hatcher (West Carrollton, Ohio/West Carrollton) etched her name into the record books as the winningest pitcher in program history in a Tiger 3-1 defeat of visiting Hiram. Hatcher's win give the Tigers their first NCAC victory of the season, before the Red and White nearly rallied for a sweep in the second game. A late-inning charge fell short, however, in a 10-8 loss in the doubleheader sweep.

The Cardinals sought revenge in the second contest, earning the split with a 2-1 win over Wittenberg.

    KISSIMMEE, Fla.- It wasn't pretty, but the Tigers will take it. The first win of the season, a 4-1 defeat of Waynesburg, snapped a seven-game rough patch to begin the season for head coach Becky Hall's women. Earlier in the day, Wittenberg also dropped a game to Geneva, 3-2.

In their Sunday opener, the Tigers fell 4-2 before dropping the second contest 10-0 in five innings against the Kohawks.
