Offense Comes Alive as Tigers Wrap Up Spring Break Trip

KISSIMMEE, Fla.- Wittenberg's softball team seems to have found its rhythm with the trip to Florida in the rearview mirror. An emphatic 8-0 rout of Emmanuel, followed by a tough 1-0 extra-inning loss to Benedictine wrapped up the spring break slate.

Junior Jade Chivington (Bellefontaine, Ohio/Bellefontaine) led the offensive onslaught with a 2-3 day at the plate and a double. Classmate Brooke Boswell (Hamilton, Ohio/Fairfield) shared the spotlight, driving in a pair of runs with a two-bagger.

Boswell later came back to pitch against Benedictine, going the distance in the tough-luck loss. Outfielder Maranda Moore (Willard, Ohio/Willard) went 3-4 at the plate in the losing effort.

After a slow start, Becky Hall's women rattled off three wins in their last five outings in Florida. Wittenberg returns home for their season opener at Betty Dillahunt Field for a doubleheader with John Carroll on Saturday, March 21 at 1 p.m.
