Baseball


Baseball Preseason ID Camp

The Wittenberg Tigers Baseball Program will be hosting a High School Preseason ID Camp on Sunday February 5, 2023.  The camp will be held from 11am-3pm for high school student's grades 9-12 (grad years 2023-2026) inside the state of the art indoor "Steemer" facility on the campus of Wittenberg University.  The Steemer is a full 120 yard synthetic turf field house with 4 pro style batting cages, indoor mounds, plyo area, and much more.  The cost of the camp is $80 with a deadline to register by Sunday January 29, 2023.  Campers will receive high end instruction while having the opportunity to showcase their baseball skills in front of Head Coach Brian McGee and the rest of the Tigers baseball coaching staff.  Current Wittenberg baseball student athletes will also be on site interacting with the campers and answering questions about what it’s like to be a Wittenberg Tiger.  We hope to see you there, Tiger Up!

*Campers may select up to two specific position areas only.  (Examples - RHP/SS, or C/RF, etc.)

*Campers are required to provide their own personal equipment (bat, batting helmet, glove, catchers gear, etc.), and wear proper baseball attire including pants, belts, and caps. 

*Sunflower seeds or any tobbaco products will NOT be permitted inside the facility grounds.

*There are no refunds for cancelations after the deadline of January 29, 2023.

Wittenberg University Men’s Basketball Tradition of Success

The Wittenberg University men’s basketball program is the all-time winningest NCAA Division III program in the country measured by both total number of victories and winning percentage. The Tigers have participated in more NCAA tournaments and Final Fours than any other DIII program in the nation. Taking all NCAA divisions into account, the Tigers have the third best winning percentage, which places then in front of such esteemed programs as Duke, Kansas and UCLA.

Highlights and Features of the Comprehensive Skills Camps

  • The emphasis of the camp is on fundamental basketball skill instruction and concepts of team play.
  • Passing, dribbling, shooting, individual offense and defense, and rebounding are primary instruction areas.
  • Camper to instructor ratio will be 10 campers to 1 instructor.
  • All camp activity takes place indoors – total of 5 courts and 20 baskets with three courts and 14 baskets located in an
    air-conditioned gymnasium.
  • Daily 3/3 and 5/5 competitive play with tournaments in both 3/3 and 5/5 conducted on final day of camp.
  • Maximum of 8 players per 5/5 camp team.
  • Both the Residence Hall and dining hall are also air-conditioned.

Wittenberg Head Coach, Bronwen Gainsford brings 6 years of experience as a Head Coach. Coach Bronwen has coached in Division I, II, and III, as well as experience with sport development with USA Field Hockey. Coach Bronwen has also worked at the youth level as a Site Director for USA Futures and currently works as a select coach for Field Hockey Life. 
 
Wittenberg Assistant Coach, Brighid Kortyna also brings a wealth of knowledge and experience of coaching multiple camps. At the youth level, Coach Brighid has worked as a Head High School Field Hockey Coach in Pennsylvania and currently works as a coach for Field Hockey Life.

Tiger Top 66 Camp

Our camps are designed to mimic the competitive environment, playing style and coaching philosophy that make us Wittenberg Lacrosse. Join us for this one day event where you will have the opportunity to work directly with our Coaching Staff, current Wittenberg Players and meet other recruits who could potentially one day be your teammates.

Wittenberg Women's Soccer Winter ID Camp

Our ID Camps are designed to mimic the competitive environment, playing style and coaching philosophy that make us Wittenberg Women’s Soccer. Join us for this one day event where you will have the opportunity to work directly with our Coaching Staff, our current Wittenberg Players and meet other recruits who could potentially one day be your teammates. The event will be held inside our State of the Art indoor Turf complex; the Steemer and will run from 10am to 4pm. The day will include two field sessions, a classroom session for players and parents and a showcase game.

2022 Summer ID Clinic

Wittenberg Men's Soccer is excited to announce our 2022 Summer ID Clinic, Sunday July 10th, 10AM to 3PM.  

Attendees receive a guided tour of campus, Q&A session, and training led by the Wittenberg men’s soccer coaching staff and players. Our on-field focus is three-fold: technical proficiency, tactical awareness, and speed of play.  

This camp is not a tryout, but rather, one part of an overall Wittenberg University evaluation. Those with serious interest after the camp can schedule a personal visit. 

Participants should arrive dressed casually for the weather as the tour will primarily take place outside. All meetings and soccer-specific activities will be held in The Steemer, our new indoor facility. There will be a locker room for changing as needed.

Come join us this summer at Wittenberg University as we teach advanced volleyball skills and get better! Camp Description: Our 3-day Varsity & JV Team Camp goal is to improve each teams’ skills, technique, bond, and overall volleyball IQ. Cost includes training, lodging, meals & a t-shirt per camper. Each team is assigned one staff coach to facilitate sessions. This is one of our favorite camps because we really get to know each team and create a connection with them, and love seeing their growth over the course of three days. Be ready to compete!

Camp Description: This 3-day camp is perfect for both new volleyball athletes and continuing development of young players. As a coaching staff, we will be teaching volleyball skills, movements, techniques and helping to develop athleticism and coordination. We provide positive, energetic teaching that encourages our young volleyball athletes to continue to improve and reach their goals.

When: July 11 - 13, 2022

Camp Description: Elite Overnight Camp is our new, 3-day overnight camp that was created for athletes who desire to play at the collegiate level. Over the course of 3 total days, we will be training and teaching high-level skill and volleyball IQ the Wittenberg Volleyball way. We will train our athletes per individual position, then collaborate and compete in competitive 6v6 drills and games with the other positions. Be ready to be pushed passed your limits and leave a better player than you were when you arrived.

Camp Description: Our All Skills camp provides instruction that covers all aspects of the game. As a staff, we host our All Skills camp over four training sessions in two days. No overnight options, just a two-day camp!

 College Prospect (Overnight) Camp

Camp Description: Our College Prospect Camp is designed to provide our participants new skill development and elevate their volleyball IQ, with an experience similar to that of our Wittenberg Volleyball student-athletes. The camp sessions are like  our Wittenberg volleyball practices. Our coaching staff and student-athletes will be working closely with our athletes at camp. This is a unique opportunity that our Wittenberg volleyball prospects will not want to miss. This year, we are including an overnight stay. Participants will arrive and have an evening session, then stay overnight in a dorm with our team, then wake up the next morning and have breakfast with the team, and a morning session of volleyball. 

When: July 16 - 17, 2022 

Cost: $150.00 Resident Camper

          $120.00 Commuter Camper

Who: 9th - 12th graders who are looking to pursue collegiate volleyball

Boys' Volleyball 


Wittenberg Men's Volleyball Winter Clinics

Camp Description: Our Winter Clinics are designed to combine both detailed positional/skill training and competition. During the morning session, we will break into groups based on position/skill in order to dive deep into details and technique. The afternoon session will be more focused on team concepts and will include a lot of competition. For the competition portion, we will group campers based on skill level. This will enable us to provide a valuable camp experience to campers of a variety of ages and abilities. There will be overlap in concepts covered on both days, but campers are welcome to attend both sessions. Lunch is provided and there will be opportunities to win Witt MVB gear throughout camp (no t-shirt included).
