Women's Soccer Celebrate Senior Day Against Wilmington

Springfield, OH – The Wittenberg women's soccer team battled the Quakers of Wilmington College on Saturday afternoon, playing to a 0-0 decision after two overtimes. The Tigers celebrated the careers of their two senior's goalie Kelly Corbin and defender Emma Thacker. The match was full of excitement from physical play to plenty of scoring chances. The Tigers led the shot total on the day, peppering the Wilmington goal with 28 shots and placing 23 on target, the Red and White ramped up the energy with 11 shots in the final overtime period. The Tigers led the corner kick tally with 10 set pieces, with Wilmington allowing four corner kick opportunities in the final overtime. Brooke Peters led the Wittenberg offense with nine shots, placing five on target. Carly Stang kept the offense flowing, adding five shots with four on the goal of her own.

Wittenberg will return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 25 when they host the Polar Bears of Ohio Northern from Edwards-Maurer Field at 7:00 PM.
