  • Tigers End the Season in NCAC Quarterfinals

    Wittenberg suffered a tough loss to end the season on May 1, losing 9-8 at home to Ohio Wesleyan on a last second goal in the quarterfinals of the NCAC Tournament on May 1. Senior Kati Robbins (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) had four goals and an assist in her final collegiate game.

  • Finishes Regular Season Fourth, Earning Entry to the NCAC Tournament

    Wittenberg finished in a tie for fourth in the NCAC regular season standings with Ohio Wesleyan and received the No. 4 seed by virtue of a victory over the Bishops during the regular season. The two teams meet for a third time today in the conference tournament, with the winner moving on to play second-seeded Kenyon in the semifinals Friday on the Ladies' home turf. Semifinal winners return to Kenyon for the championship match on Saturday.

    Wittenberg takes a two-game winning streak into the final week of the regular season after going 2-1 on a tough three-game road swing to conclude last week's action. Wittenberg lost 13-10 to Ohio Wesleyan in a non-league game on Thursday, but the Tigers rebounded to capture a 16-5 win over Allegheny on Saturday and an 8-3 victory over St. Vincent on Sunday.
  • Wittenberg Couldn't Pull Off a Win Against Rank Two Denison

    Wittenberg fell behind 17-5 at halftime and lost 26-11 at Denison in its only action last week. Still, senior Kati Robbins (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) had five goals and ranks first in the NCAC in points (55) and assists (28), while standing second in goals (27). Sophomore Cara Romanowski (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) is sixth in the conference in both points (30) and goals (25).

    The Tigers stand in third place in the NCAC and face an important game at second-place Dension on Wednesday. Wittenberg continues to be led by its Collegeville, Pa. duo of senior Kati Robbins (Methacton High School) and sophomore Cara Romanowski (Perkiomen Valley).
  • Tigers Pick Up Two Wins

    Wittenberg picked up a pair of impressive wins last week as the Tigers romped 19-1 at Earlham on March 29 and then recorded a dramatic 7-6 double-overtime victory at Oberlin on April 1. Senior Kati Robbins (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton), a first-team all-conference selection a year ago, leads the NCAC in scoring with 11 goals and 17 assists on the season, and in recognition of her outstanding efforts, the North Coast Athletic Conference awarded her Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week honors.

    The Tigers may have lost two of their three games during Spring Break in Panama City, Fla. but the improvement was evident in the team's first game back in chilly Ohio. Wittenberg dismantled visiting St. Vincent on March 16 at Edwards-Maurer Field by a final score of 18-3.
  • Tigers' Spring Break Trip Starts Off Rocky

    The Tigers opened the trip with a 9-7 loss to Rochester Institute of Technology, then lost 24-8 to Shippensburg, Pa. Senior attacker Kati Robbins (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) had one goal and two assists for Wittenberg against Shippensburg.
