In The Toughest Stretch of the Season Tigers Pick Up Two Wins

Wittenberg takes a two-game winning streak into the final week of the regular season after going 2-1 on a tough three-game road swing to conclude last week's action. Wittenberg lost 13-10 to Ohio Wesleyan in a non-league game on Thursday, but the Tigers rebounded to capture a 16-5 win over Allegheny on Saturday and an 8-3 victory over St. Vincent on Sunday.

Senior Kati Robbins (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) had four goals and two assists in the loss at Ohio Wesleyan, while sophomore Cara Romanowski (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) had six goals and Robbins five in a 16-5 win at Allegheny. Robbins ranks first in the NCAC in points (71/5.92 per game) and assists (33/2.75), and also stands second in goals (38/3.17). Romanowski is fifth in goals (35/2.92) and sixth in points (40/3.33).

This week, the Tigers host Earlham on Senior Day Wednesday and then travel to second-place Wooster. The team's four seniors - RobbinsCereescia Sandoval (Lawrenceburg, Ky./Tates Creek)Danielle Paglino (Troy, Mich./Marian) and Jennie Stone (Damascus, Md./Damascus)- will be honored prior to the Earlham game. Those two games will round out the team's regular season and hopefully give the Tigers momentum going into the NCAC tournament next week.
