SPRINGFIELD, Ohio—Wittenberg women's volleyball opened up NCAC tournament play on Friday night as the #1 seed against the #8 seed, Oberlin. Wittenberg, the #7 team in the latest AVCA poll, moved past the Yeowomen 3-1, 25-14, 25-11, 22-25, and 25-19. The Tigers now play in the NCAC semifinals against the Battling Bishops of Ohio Wesleyan University.
MATCH NOTES
- Wittenberg was led by Camila Quiñones and Maddie Fischer who paced the Tigers with 13 kills each.
- Karen Wildemann and Madison Manger paced the Tigers defensively, leading the team with 11 kills each against the Yeowomen.
- Wildemann also set up the Tigers hitters all night with 34 assists, as the sophomore setter surpassed the 30-assist mark.
- Wittenberg slugged a .371 clip a a team, as the Yeowomen were stonewalled at a .095 percentage.
