BEREA — The Wittenberg women's outdoor track and field team competed in select events at the Harrison Dillard Twilight meet at Baldwin Wallace on Friday.
The Basics
- Venue: George Finnie Stadium - Berea, Ohio
- The meet was not team scored.
- Wittenberg competed in eight events at the meet, which featured teams from all NCAA divisions.
Wittenberg's Top Performers
- Junior Meghan Frazier (Alliance, Ohio/Alliance) finished fourth in the 400 meters in 56.29 seconds. Sophomore Tymeerah De'Armond (Springfield, Ohio/Springfield) was 10th in the event in 1:00.23.
- Frazier and juniors Lindsey Magoteaux (Sidney, Ohio/Lehman Catholic), Zora Shakhan (Pickerington, Ohio/Central) and Haleigh Willison (Crooksville, Ohio/Crooksville) placed fifth in the 4x100 relay in 48.53 seconds.
- In the 200 meters, Willison was 12th in 25.82 seconds, De'Armond was 16th in 26.29 seconds, freshman Jenna Delp (Canton, Ohio/GlenOak) was 22nd in 26.81 seconds, and Shakhan was 25th in 27.07 seconds.
- Delp added an 11th-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 5.07 meters.
- Sophomore Tiffany Hix (Prospect, Ohio/Elgin) placed 12th in the pole vault with a mark of 3.51 meters.
- Junior Reese Neumeyer (Whitehouse, Ohio/Anthony Wayne) was 14th in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:07.46. She was 12th in the 100-meter hurdles prelims in 16.06 seconds.
- Sophomore Abbey Danne (Johnstown, Ohio/Big Walnut) was 24th in the 800 meters in 2:21.12.
Potential National Qualifiers
- Based on national rankings, the top 22 individuals in each event and top 16 relay teams will qualify for the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Wittenberg entered Friday with two student-athletes ranked inside the top 30 in their respective events.
- Junior Taylor Weiss (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty) was tied for fourth in the high jump with a mark of 1.70 meters.
- Junior Julissa Williams (Lorain, Ohio/Lorain) was tied for ninth in the high jump with a mark of 1.69 meters.
- Frazier's time of 56.29 seconds in the 400 ranked 19th nationally at the time the event was completed.
