Tigers Take Host 2022 NCAC Indoor Track & Field Championships

Springfield, OH – The Wittenberg Tiger Track & Field program hosted the 2022 North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships from The Steemer over the weekend. The Wittenberg men came away with a third-place finish, racking up 87 points, trailing only conference champions Wabash (151.5) and Wooster (88). On the women's side, the Tiger's earned a sixth-place finish with 66 points, edging out Allegheny and Kenyon. Wittenberg captured seven All-NCAC awards on the men's side, with the women's team securing five all-conference nods.

The Wittenberg men's 4x200 relay team consisting of Matthew Drovdlic, Jack Houck, Rashon Edwards and Matt Rogers took the top spot with a time of 1:30.11. Adding two more all-conference awards for Drovdlic on the weekend, he would earn third-place finishes in both the 60-meter and 200-meter events. Drovdlic posted a final time of 7.11 in the 60-meter, along with a 22.48 in the 200m. Conor Kolka would also earn a pair of All-NCAC nods coming in the 3k and 5k events. Kolka posted a time of 8:41.54 in the 3000-meter for a third-place finish. He would later add another third-place finish in the 5000-meter, finishing in a time of 15:09.12. Deven Ramsey broke his own Wittenberg record in the 800-meter posting a time of 1:53.66, earning a second-place finish and All-NCAC laurels. The Tiger 4x400 relay team of Caden Zellner, Edwards, Chance Keller and Ramsey posted a second-place finish with a time of 3:25.42. Justin Norris earned All-NCAC accolades in the high jump competition, clearing the bar set at 6-4.

The Wittenberg women were led by newcomer Lindsey Magoteaux earning a pair of All-NCAC honors. Magoteaux clocked a time of 7.88 in the 60-meter for a second-place finish. She would follow-up with another second-place finish in the 200-meter dash, posting a time of 26.11. Corin Turkovich clocked a time of 18:09.43 for a third-place finish in the 5k run. The 4x200 relay team of Reese Neumeyer, Meghan Frazier, Kyngston Collins and Magoteaux secured a third-place finish and All-NCAC honors in a time of 1:46.31. Hannah Schartz added to the Tiger's All-NCAC count with a third-place finish, clearing the bar at 5-2.25.
