Wittenberg hosts 2023 All-Ohio D3 Collegiate Championships

Springfield, OH- Wittenberg who is ranked fourth on the women's side and eighth on the men's side in the Great Lakes Region hosted the 2023 All-Ohio D3 Collegiate Championships in the Steemer.

Highlights- The women had an overall team finish of second with 110 points while the men took sixth with 45 points. Wittenberg took home 13 top three finishes with relay teams having success across the spread.  

Both the men and women's 4000m distance medley relay teams were able to place in the top three. Dak Smith, Mason Duncan, Peter Caine, and Adam Arndt got things started with a third-place finish in the men's 4000m distance medley relay in a time of 10:45.93. Kiki Krohmer, Kyngston Collins, Emma Hawk, and Megan Keys followed things up with a finish of 13:01.10 and first-place finish for the Tigers. The women's 4x200m relay team comprised of Zora Shakhan, Haleigh Willison, Meghan Frazier, and Tymeerah De'Armond also finished in the top three with a second-place finish and time of 1:43.30. Wittenberg's 4x400m relay team crossed the line in third with Grayson Ring, Cameron Elliott, Mason Duncan, and Chance Keller finishing at 3:26.19. The Tigers 4x400m relay team took home first with Delaney Tackett, Meghan Frazier, Abigail Danne, and Tymeerah De'Armond finishing at 4:06.14.

Morgan Ely grabbed another third-place finish for the Red & White, crossing the line at 19:49.77 in the 5000m run. Tymeerah De'Armond came back in the 400m to finish third with a time of 59.61 while Zora Shakhan returned in the 60m to take first in a time of 7.84. Also competing in the 60m was Lindsey Magoteaux with a third-place finish and time of 7.98. Haleigh Willison took second in the 200m dash with a time of 26.15.

In field events, Grayson Ring took a third-place finish in the men's high jump with a heigh of 1.91m. Taylor Weiss placed in the top three in two events, going third in the women's triple jump with a distance of 10.25m and second in the high jump with a height of 1.64m.

Valentine Invitational- While the Tigers were competing at home, Zeke Bennett, Ian McCandlish, Conor Kolka, Ella Webster, and Sydney Khosla were in Boston competing in the David Hemery Valentine Invitational. Bennett posted a 15th place finish in the 400m out of a field of 246 athletes and a season best 48.00. Ian McCandlish placed 92nd out of 328 competitors and time of 1:53.34 12 in the 800m. Conor Kolka competed in a field of 94 athletes, placing 25th with a time of 14:43.49. Ella Webster crossed the line at 5:05.94 in the 1 mile for a place of 178  while Sydney Khosla finished at 5:18.52 for a place of 251 out of a field of 288.

Up Next- Wittenberg will return to action on February 18th for the Wittenberg Invitational where they will celebrate their senior class.
