Tigers Take Third At NCAC Outdoor Championships

The Tiger's track and field team wrapped up their season last week at the NCAC Track and Field Championships hosted by Oberlin College. The teams were able earn 16 total All- NCAC conference honors: ten on the men's side, and six for the women. In the team standings the women placed seventh with 72 points, and the men finished third overall with 107 points scored. The two-day meet was filled with distance finals, fast prelims, and many personal bests on the field events side of the competition.

On day one of competition, sophomore Sydney Khosla took home the 3,000-meter steeplechase title. She also improved her own school record with a new time of 11:29.37. Moving to day two, freshmen, Julissa Williams tied for second place in the high jump competition at 1.55 meters. Then in the women's 4x100 meter relay, the team of Zora Shakhan, Lindsey Magoteaux, Haleigh Wilson, and Meghan Frazier captured the first-place finish and All-NCAC honors with a time of 49.18 meters.

For the men, freshmen Jack Houck, was able to get the weekend started, earning himself a third-place finish in long jump at 6.60 meters. Joshua Weisenberger also claimed third place in javelin with a throw of 49.44 meters. The 4x100 meter relay team of Houck, Matthew Drovdlic, Azad Robinson, and Matt Rogers placed third in a time of 43.37 seconds. Drovdlic was able to come back in the 100-meter dash and claim his own third-place finish in a time of 10.99 seconds. He also secured second-place in the 200-meter dash in 21.94 seconds. In the 110-meter hurdles, senior Garrin Bachinski added his own third-place finish in a time of 15.41. Ezekiel Bennett was second in the 400-meter dash running 49.06 seconds. In the 800-meter run, senior Deven Ramsey, claimed second place in 1:56.36. In the 5,000-meter run, freshmen Conor Kolka claimed first place in a time of 14:50. To wrap up the weekend the 4x400 meter relay team of Bennett, Bachinski, Ramsey, and Ian McCandlish ran to a third-place finish in 3:24.87 seconds.

As majority of the Tiger's wrapped up their season, a few are looking for last minute marks for nationals' qualification, or a chance at improving their own school records. Those Tiger's will be traveling this week to the North Central Gregory Invitational and the Mount Union Last chance meet the following week.
