    A year removed from the best season in Wittenberg men's soccer program history, a new-look Tiger team is hoping for an encore in 2009. Despite significant personnel losses due to graduation, including two-time North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Offensive Player of the Year Matt Borland and leading scorer Shane Price, a young but talented squad hopes to build off last year's NCAA Division III Tournament appearance.

With a 2-0 loss at Hiram on Saturday, the men finished a 3-13-2 season in which they did not qualify for the North Coast Athletic Conference tournament with a 2-6-1 record in the conference.

The last-minute loss brings the Tigers to 1-7-2 on the season with North Coast Athletic Conference action waiting to resume Saturday.

Wittenberg moves to 1-6-2 overall and 0-0-1 in the NCAC, while Allegheny owns marks of 4-3-1 overall and 0-0-1 in conference.
