Tigers End Season with Senior Day Win

SPRINGIELD, OH - Wittenberg Men's Basketball celebrated Senior Recognition Day prior to their final home game of the season against the Hiram Terriers. The Tigers were able to come away with a win by a score of 86-73. With the win, Wittenberg's season ends with a record of 9-16 (5-11 NCAC) and Hiram's regular season record becomes 6-19 (1-15 NCAC).

The seniors recognized for Wittenberg were Daniel Asher (Indianapolis, IN / Roncalli), Daylen Fullen (Columbus, OH / Eastmoor), Cameron Harrison (Eaton, OH / National Trail), Trey Killens (Cincinnati, OH / Mason) and team manager Jaida Malone.

After the first half, the Tigers took a three-point lead into the locker room at 34-31 behind a team-leading 18 points from Harrison. Dawson Scott (New Castle, IN / New Castle) and Eddie Brown (Lewis Center, OH / Olentangy Orange) each pulled down six rebounds in the first half to lead the team.

In the second, Wittenberg stretched their lead to 19 only five minutes into the half and every time the Terriers started to claw their way back, the Tigers were able to hit a big shot to extend the lead until the clock eventually hit triple zeroes.

Team Leaders

  • Harrison led the team with 29 points and Brown finished with 19 of his own, while Jacob Roeth (Troy, OH / Miami East) dropped 12 points off the bench to round out the Tigers in double figures.
  • Brown led in rebounds with 12 to secure a double-double and Scott added eight more.
  • Brown and Roeth each logged three assists to tie for the team lead in that catergory as well. Brown also led in blocks and steals with three of each.

Team Comparison

  • The Tigers led in every stat except for three-point and free throw percentage and both teams pulled down 30 rebounds.
  • Wittenberg also dominated in bench points, 30-13, and points in the paint, 36-24.
  • The Tigers also finished with five steals to the Terrier's six.
