
LAS VEGAS, NV - The Tigers played their second game in the D3hoops.com Classic against Hardin-Simmons and came up short, falling by a score of 64-53.
The loss moved Wittenberg to 5-6 on the season, while Hardin-Simmons added on to the win coumn to move to 6-8.
The Tigers were able to keep it close going into halftime down only four points after a strong start from Eddie Brown (Lewis Center, OH / Olentangy Orange), Tyler Galluch (Springfield, OH / Catholic Central), and Daniel Asher (Indianapolis, IN / Roncalli), as each player ended the half with six points, while Brown added three rebounds, and Galluch had three assists.
In the second half, Hardin-Simmons was almost unstoppable as the Cowboys outscored Wittenberg in the half by a score of 36-29 to hand Wittenberg the 11-point loss. In the second half, Trey Killens (Cincinnati, OH / Mason) led the team with eight points and Brown added another five rebounds to his stat line, while Galluch added two more assists.
Four Tigers finished the game scoring in double figures, with Brown and Killens tallying 11, while Asher and Galluch finished with 10. Brown also went on to lead the team in rebounds with eight to come up on only two short of a double-double. Cameron Harrison (Eaton, OH / National Trail) was just behind, grabbing five rebounds of his own. After leading the team in assists both halves, Galluch took the lead in assists with five.
The Tigers' next game will be in Wooster in a North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) game against the nationally ranked Fighting Scots on Saturday, January 4, with tip-off coming at 7:00 p.m.
