
Springfield, OH - The Tiger Men's Basketball team fell to DePauw by a score of 57-49 in a hard-fought battle at Pam Evans Smith Arena. After the loss, Wittenberg fell to 5-8 (1-3 NCAC), while DePauw is now 7-7 (3-2 NCAC).
Wittenberg took control of the game early by taking a seven-point lead into half by a score of 28-21. Of those 28 points, both Spence Davidson (Lebanon, OH / Lebanon) and Eddie Brown (Lewis Center, OH / Olentangy Orange) logged eight apiece, with six of Davidson's coming from three-point range. At halftime, Brown also led the team in rebounds with four and Tyler Galluch (Springfield, OH / Catholic Central) led the team in assists with two.
In the second half, DePauw pulled even and slowly pulled away as Wittenberg struggled to continue scoring. By the end of the game, Brown had a team-high 12 points and three players were tied at 8, including Davidson, Galluch, and Cameron Harrison (Eaton, OH / National Trail). Brown and Cal Bavineau (Dexter, MI / Dexter) led the team in both rebounds and assists, with five and three each.
Wittenberg had 11 assists to DePauw's five and led in blocks, three to none, and steals, five to four.
The Tigers' next game is on Saturday, January 11, as they take on Denison at home at 3:00 p.m.
