Wittenberg Men's Basketball Works OT To Secure Win At Wilmington

WILMINGTON, OH - Wittenberg Men's Basketball had to go an extra five minutes, but the Tigers finally found a way to end their three-game losing streak with an 81-76 overtime victory over host Wilmington.

The win evened Wittenberg's record at 3-3. Wilmington fell to 1-5.

After two games without the services of leading scorer Trey Killens (Cincinnati, OH / Mason) and one game without second-leading scorer Tyler Galluch (Springfield, OH / Catholic Central), the Tigers were back at full strength against the Quakers and hoping to avenge a narrow loss in Springfield a year earlier. Both players stepped right back into the lineup and made key contributions, as Killens finished with 15 points and Galluch finished with eight points.

Dawson Scott (New Castle, IN / New Castle) led the way offensively for the Tigers with 19 points, followed closely by Eddie Brown (Lewis Center, OH / Olentangy Orange) with 17 points. Wittenberg shot 45.3% from the field (29-of-64), including 50 from three-point range (10-of-20).

The Tigers won the rebounding battle 32-24, led by Brown and freshman Isaiah Chitapa (Louisville, KY / Evangle Christian) with six each and Cameron Harrison (Eaton, OH / National Trail) with five. Killens led in the assists department with four, and he rounded out his return to the lineup with a team-high three steals.
