No. 9 Tigers Complete Unbeaten NCAC Slate With Sweep Of DePauw

Greencastle, IN – The No. 9 Wittenberg Women's volleyball team completed their unbeaten North Coast Athletic Conference regular-season, with a decisive 3-0 (25-16, 25-23, 25-19) sweep of DePauw University. Wittenberg amassed 40 kills on 115 total attacks with just 18 errors, logging a team hitting-percentage of .191 on the evening. Leading the way for the Wittenberg attack, graduate-senior Katie Hiestand put down 13 kills, finishing with a .154 hitting-percentage. Three separate Wittenberg hitters tallied five kills, including Tyler Linkhart, Kendall Robertson and Hannah Schartz. Sarah Hettich added seven kills, while getting up on two block assists.

The Wittenberg defense kept the DePauw offense from gathering any momentum on the night. The DePauw offense generated 29 kills on the night for a .157 hitting-percentage, with 12 errors. The Wittenberg defense did not allow a single DePauw attacker to reach double-digit kills on the evening. Wittenberg won the battle at the service line, putting down six aces to DePauw's four as the home Tigers tallied nine service errors.

Mack Ricketts tallied 33 of Wittenberg's 39 assists on the night, adding nine digs and two kills to her tally. Ava Hampton kept the defense alive with a team-high 25 digs, adding four assists. Reagan Kane tallied a team-high three service aces from the back for Wittenberg.

With this win, Wittenberg improves to 19-3 on the season with an unblemished 7-0 record in NCAC play. This is the 23rd unbeaten NCAC regular season for the Wittenberg women's volleyball program. Head Coach Evelyn Carus-Miller has now led Wittenberg to a third NCAC regular season title in five seasons at the helm. This marked Wittenberg's 26th overall NCAC regular season crown and their 9th in 10 years.

Wittenberg will get set to host the NCAC Tournament for the 23rd time on Friday and Saturday, November 4-5, from Pam Evans Smith Arena.
