Women’s Golf Opens Season at Lynn Schweizer Invitational

Granville, Ohio- The 25th-ranked Wittenberg University Women's Golf team opened the 2019-20 season over Labor Day Weekend at Denison's Lynn Schweizer Invitational, played at the par-71, 5,824-yard Denison Golf Club in Granville, Ohio.

The Tigers finished ninth overall in the final team standings with a 36-hole score of 709 (362-347), while NCAC foe DePauw won the team title at the event with a two-day score of 643 (326-317). 

Individually, junior Erin Adams paved the way for Wittenberg at the season-opening event by tying for second out of 77 total golfers in the tournament field. Adams finished the two-day event with 153 total strokes, which included a 75 on Saturday and a 78 on Sunday. The opening round 75 was Adams' low 18-hole round in her collegiate career. 

Junior Jordan Jarrett tied for 33rd in the individual standings with Transylvania's Kelli Harpe after carding a two-day score of 173 (91-82), while senior Megan Selby finished as part of a four-way tie for 40th with a 176 (90-86). 

In addition, the freshmen duo of Elizabeth Uhl and Camryn Spencer kicked off their collegiate careers at the event, finishing in 73rd (207) and 75th (219), respectively. 

The Tigers will be off next weekend, before returning to the course on Saturday, September 14th, for the opening round of the Illinois Wesleyan Fall Invitational in Normal, Illinois.
