WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Wittenberg men's and women's cross country teams placed ninth and sixth respectively in the Otterbein Invitational.

The highlight of the meet for either team was the performance turned in by junior Molly King (Springfield, Ohio/Northeastern). She placed sixth in the five-kilometer race overall, behind just two NCAA Division III runners and ahead of numerous scholarship student-athletes, in a time of 19:19.

King was followed by freshman Sarah Webb (Twinsburg, Ohio/Twinsburg), who finished 25th in a time of 20:39. Rounding out Wittenberg's scorers were junior Shannon Kelleher (Hilliard, Ohio/Darby) in 32nd, freshman Sarah Ellis (Grove City, Ohio/Grove City) in 62nd and senior Chelsey Williams (Fort Wayne, Ind./Canterbury) in 63rd in the 129-runner field.

Wittenberg finished sixth out of 12 teams in the meet. The host Cardinals won, beating Ohio Dominican by 12 points.

On the men's side, the leading Wittenberg finisher was senior Trevor Grandy (Dublin, Ohio/Coffman), who paced a short-handed Tiger contingent with a 16th-place finish. He covered the 8-kilometer course in 27:45.
