Short-handed Tigers Run Well At Otterbein Invitational

WESTERVILLE, Ohio - Most of Wittenberg University's top runners took the weekend off, but the ones who ran at the Otterbein Invitational performed well as the Tiger men placed 15th and the Tiger women finished eighth.

The top individual finisher for Wittenberg was sophomore Mary Pfeifer (Dublin, Ohio/Coffman), who placed 18th in the 150-runner field. She crossed the finish line in the 6K race in a time of 24:24.1. She was followed by sophomore Emma Crosby (Rockford, Mich./Rockford), who took 35th in a time of 25:23.5.

The other women's point-scorers were sophomore Lindley Bell (Pittsfield, Mass./Mount Greylock) in 37th in 25:31.6, sophomore Samantha Iden (Pickerington, Ohio/North) in 50th in 26:08.2 and sophomore Samantha Swanton (Saginaw, Mich./Douglas MacArthur) in 52nd in 26:11.0.

On the men's side, freshman Adam Markins (Chillicothe, Ohio/Union Scioto) paced the Tigers pack in the 8K race in 79th place in 30:18.7. Sophomore Ethan Barr (Bexley, Ohio/Bexley) was next in 87th in 31:03.7, followed by junior Ray Allen (Hilliard, Ohio/Darby) in 95th in 32:26.5, junior Joe Angle (Springfield, Ohio/Northwestern) in 96th in 32:55.5 and freshman Tim Huesing (Mason, Ohio/Mason) in 98th in 33:16.4.
