Hix breaks own school record in the pole vault to lead Women's Outdoor Track and Field on Day 1 of Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic

LYNCHBURG, Va. — Sophomore Tiffany Hix (Prospect, Ohio/Elgin) broke her own school record in the pole vault to lead the Wittenberg women's outdoor track and field team on Friday on Day 1 of the two-day Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic hosted by the University of Lynchburg.

Wittenberg's Top Performers

  • Hix won the pole vault with a mark of 3.60 meters, breaking her own school-record mark of 3.47 meters from earlier this season at the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Open. Freshman Story Laing (Granville, Ohio/Granville) placed fifth in the event with a mark of 3.15 meters.
  • Sophomore Emma Hawk (Marion, Ohio/River Valley) finished second in the invitational 5,000 meters in 17:54.86. Three Tigers placed inside the top five, as junior Megan Keys (Dublin, Ohio/Jerome) was fourth in 18:18.88, and freshman Maddi Clark (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) was fifth in 18:23.65.
  • The team of sophomores Abbey Danne (Johnstown, Ohio/Big Walnut), Tymeerah De'Armond (Springfield, Ohio/Springfield) and Delaney Tackett (Waverly, Ohio/Waverly) and freshman DeYanna Champion (Dayton, Ohio/Early College Academy) placed third in the 4x400 relay in 4:01.01.
  • Sophomore Ziciah Gibson (Cambridge, Ohio/Cambridge) finished fourth in the javelin with a mark of 32.64 meters and sixth in the long jump with a mark of 4.46 meters.
  • Freshman Jenna Delp (Canton, Ohio/GlenOak) placed fourth in the invitational long jump with a mark of 5.33 meters, and junior Julissa Williams (Lorain, Ohio/Lorain) was seventh with a mark of 5.15 meters.
  • Freshman Brooke DeHart (Springfield, Ohio/Kenton Ridge) was seventh in the long jump with a mark of 4.42 meters.
