SPRINGFIELD — The Wittenberg women's tennis team fell 9-0 to No. 35 Kenyon in North Coast Athletic Conference play on Sunday.
The Basics
- Records: Wittenberg (9-4 overall, 0-2 NCAC), Kenyon (8-6 overall, 3-0 NCAC)
- Venue: Albright Tennis Complex - Springfield, Ohio
- Kenyon is ranked No. 35 nationally in the latest ITA NCAA Division III top 50 rankings, which were released on Wednesday. The Owls have played six matches against top-50-ranked teams this season, going 1-6 against that group.
The Match
- In doubles play, junior Caroline Sproule (Lewis Center, Ohio/Olentangy Orange) and freshman Kylie Wilson (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty) fell 5-8 at No. 1, freshmen Sophia Pischalko (Granger, Ind./Penn) and Breanna Ball (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy) fell 3-8 at No. 2, and freshmen Claire Loomis (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) and Lilly Hartman (Lexington, Ky./Henry Clay) fell 3-8 at No. 3.
- Wilson played the Tigers' most competitive singles match of the day, falling 4-6, 2-6 at No. 2.
- Sproule fell 0-6, 1-6 at No. 1 singles.
- Pischalko fell 0-6, 0-6 at No. 3 singles, Loomis fell 1-6, 2-6 at No. 4, Hartman fell 0-6, 1-6 at No. 5, and freshman Celeste Hartings (Tipp City, Ohio/Tippecanoe) fell 1-6, 0-6 at No. 6.
