SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — The Wittenberg women's tennis team ventured back into North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) West Division play and dropped an 8-1 decision to 16th ranked Denison.

The loss, coupled with an earlier loss to nationally ranked DePauw, moved the Tigers to 0-2 in the NCAC West with one regular season match remaining at Ohio Wesleyan on April 5. Overall, Wittenberg stands at 7-8 with a total of seven regular season matches left on the schedule.

Wittenberg's lone win in the match came at No. 3 doubles, where seniors Maggie Stewart (Rocky River, Ohio/Magnificat) and Alex Cummins (New Lebanon, Ohio/Dixie) won by an 8-5 score. Stewart then nearly pulled off a singles victory before dropping a third-set tiebreaker by a 10-8 score.

The Tigers return home for a non-conference match against Central State on Saturday, March 31.
