DAYTON, Ohio. — The Wittenberg women's tennis team continued their 2011 spring campaign with a match at NCAA Division I Dayton Sunday, dropping the decision 7-0 and moving to 11-2 on the year.
The doubles combo of seniors Jayne Miely (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) and Rachel Bundy (North Canton, Ohio/Hoover) engaged in a fierce battle with their opponents at No. 3, dropping an 8-3 decision.
Miely fell 6-3, 6-3 in her No. 2 singles matchup with Dayton's Loni Dickerhoof, while at No. 4 singles junior Maggie Stewart (Bay Village, Ohio/Magnificat) fell 6-1, 6-2.
Sophomore Kristin Wright (Akron, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) lost by a 6-1, 6-2 score in No. 6 singles.
The Tigers kick off North Coast Athletic Competition with a 4:30 p.m. match against Denison at the David and Georgianna Albright Tennis Complex in Springfield on Tuesday, March 29.
